The Best Motorcycle Routes Around Auckland | Moto Day Trips

Auckland city viewed from Mount Eden viewing platform

Are you visiting New Zealand soon and will stop by Auckland for a day or two?

There are plenty of iconic(... and some lesser known ones!) motorcycle routes in the greater Auckland area that you can actually ride to and come back to the city on the same day!

At AVS Motorcycle Rental(www.avsmoto.nz), we pride ourselves in flexibility when it comes to bike hires. We are happy to offer one-day rentals, pickup & return on weekends and off-hours, even public holidays! We monitor our inbox throughout the day so don’t be afraid to text us at 9 pm on a Friday to ask for a one-day rental next morning!

For the past few years, we’ve rode to pretty much everywhere that you can go and come back home on the same day. With this experience, here we’ve compiled a list of great motorcycle day-trip routes.

Sorted from short-to-long by distance, and difficulties and warnings, tips etc.

Note: None of the routes below involve any hardcore technical off-roading stuff - we understand that most riders just want a relaxing, carefree ride to explore the region and come home without a scar at the end of the day(especially on a rental bike!).

WIP - We are still actively building this blog post, and we'll update frequently as ideas come to mind 😊
